WHERE IS ANTON by Kiki Dranias is a layer-driven story about how a profound trauma plays third wheel in a couple’s relationship.
Through the notion of the twin infinity, this non-linear play explores themes of personal trauma, marital dynamics, mental health issues, and one’s own conciliation with the disillusionment of age and money.
WHERE IS ANTON written and directed by Kiki Dranias premiered in Montreal from June 11 - June 20, 2021, during Montreal’s 30th Fringe Festival at MainLine Theatre. Six sold-out performances were presented live. The show starred Kelly Craig and Anton Koval. The play was written in a week during the pandemic in 2021 and was produced by Purple Divine.
With the desire to prepare and present a live show during the pandemic without having to wear masks or measure social-distance during rehearsals and performances, Kiki wrote a story about a couple then hired real-life couple actors Kelly & Anton. As a result, rehearsals were done at home in a ‘bubble’ and all shows were performed in front of live audiences without masks or any measured distance on stage.
